Agustin Garza

Recently I went to GAUGE's speaker series featuring Agustin Garza. This event was worth while and was very inspiring. Agustin Garza (president of AIGA Los Angeles chapter) gave a very interesting talk about how he gets his inspiration and how he comes up with these ideas. He actually travels to the place and stays there for weeks on end just to understand what the place is about. Because of this he has made many brochures and logos. He is one of the few designers who considers himself a mythologist because his ideas come from myths and he has designed everything. His current project Xanadu consists of almost every aspect of what he does. Brand experience and identity, communications strategy and positioning, naming, advertising, print and web communication. If you want to know more about Garza go to his website at: http://www.garzagroup.com/

I was very pleased with seeing him and being able to meet him in person. He was a worthwhile speaker and a great designer. If you or anyone you know ever get a chance to sit in one of his lectures stay and listen.

Hi Nate,
I went to this lecture too, and enjoyed the whole lecture, off course his humor and his adventure experience.

Hey what's up Nathaniel,
It is Joel from your Art 408 class. Great comment on visiting the AIGA speaker. Even though I didn't have the opportunity to speak to him in person I enjoyed your response and someday I want to sit down and talk to him myself. Through your description I find out that he is really a down to earth person and he loves what he does for a living. This is seen through his traveling and staying there for days and even weeks. He stays in the location until he discovers some great creative experience. He loves what he does! Great blog comment. Have a great summer.

yeah! such a great speaker event. But i would like to learn more information on branding. It's interesting to know how he collaborate with other non-designers to create creative spark.
