Design Community
With a slowing economy and lack of jobs out in the world, I'm finding it harder and harder to search for jobs. With only a limited amount of resources out there for designers I've come to learn that being a part of the design community will be the only way to advance in this very competitive career. But what does it meant to be part of the design community? This means that we have to attend events with other fellow designers and learn about the newest and latest design trends. I must admit that I don't quite network as much as I should don't pay attention to whats new and popular among other designers. But I do know that later on if I want to find a job in design, the design community is the only way to go in regards to advancing in the world and contributing to the design world.

you still have to practice your skills and experiment with your designs...find new things....thats how you may or may not start a "trend" but the point is...do more work less?

I agree with Phillip however I must admit I have only gotten jobs through social networking and social climbing.
