Very Interesting and informative...

A lot of design that we find interesting comes mostly from magazines, television, books, advertising, and posters. It might just be me but I feel like when I study design I don't pay enough attention to newspaper design. So I chose some very interesting but yet, informative pieces that make newspaper design just as good as a design p. Although the paper is a bit different from good paper the content within the design is what catches my eye. But who knows, this might just be my own opinion... :D

I agree that the images of the newspaper design contains a lot of information, while still maintaining a clear and clean design. Maybe I don't pay enough attention either to newspapers, but that doesn't look like a local one or is it?

well the reason I ignore newspaper design is I never get a chance to read a newspaper. I'm lucky if I get to catch a bit of NPR.
I'm sure there are interesting and informative design in newspaper as well as horrible ones. Most likely depends heavily on which paper.

Yes I do agree that design is about what draws the viewer in relation to the content. As explained by Jimmy in class and demonstrated in our map designs, the content is more important than the other visual information. In design, the content has to be visually clear and cannot confuse the viewer. In design, the content is crucial because the communication of this data decides on the success of a design work. Going back to assigned class readings from our textbook Envisioning Information by Tufte, it is the way that you represent the content that can further add to the success of a design work. The content can be manipulated but still must be readable. It is these important things that a designer must recognize. Anyways, great newspaper ads. In these newspaper ads, the content along with the visuals add to the successfulness of communicating the information.

The one from the NY Times about wars is really great. I'm kinda nerdy so I like to look at stuff like that.

This is a great example of how good illustration and information design can really be effective in catching the views eyes.
