LA vs WAR (You must see this show)

First and foremost I want to say that this event was a great inspiration in Political graphics. Because it focuses on the current situation in regards to Iraq, inflation in Oil, major corporations who are making money off the war, etc... I strongly recommend everyone to go see the event before its too late. (April 10-13)

Here is a link

I like this piece because it shows several of the smaller and larger corporate logos transformed as what they are truly suppose to be seen. Texaco is Terror, Snapel is Shrapnel, American Airline is Anti-American, etc... Its an excellent example of political graphics integrated to some of America's corporate logos.

This other poster is a great example of how the Media uses propaganda to convince people of what is politically correct and what is politically wrong. Just like during the years of Adolf Hitler. when the Nazis used propaganda to persuade the public. Soon creating the Axis powers and than World War 2.

Symbols & Anatomy

Today I read a book called Visible Signs. The book discussed information about icons, symbols, and meanings. For some reason when I read this my thoughts went totally toward the idea of the Vitruvian Man, by Leonardo Da Vinci. Its interesting because the Vitruvian Man has many meanings through the image alone. This image is known not only for reference of the human body but also a symbolic combination of art, math, and science combined.
I looked up some information about this and found out that, Leonardo symbolized the material existence by the square and spiritual existence by the circle. So there was more to the Vitruvian Man than I thought there would be. If you think about it, Da Vinci gave this piece an iconic image itself. The drawing represents art, the square and circle represent the math and the proportion of the body represents science. Well this is my idea of what I thought when I read about symbolism.

If you want to know more about the Vitruvian Man you can go to a few of these sites:
